{"id":11018,"date":"2026-04-24T09:46:23","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T09:46:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.humanoptics.com\/optics-engineer-m-f-d-research-development\/"},"modified":"2026-05-20T11:36:43","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T11:36:43","slug":"optics-engineer-m-f-d-research-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.humanoptics.com\/en\/optics-engineer-m-f-d-research-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Optics Engineer (m\/f\/d) Research &#038; Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As an innovative and internationally oriented manufacturer of premium implants for eye surgery, we develop, produce and distribute medical products to restore the best possible vision to the human eye.<\/p>\n<p>To strengthen our team at the Sankt Augustin site, we are looking for a full-time Optics Engineer (m\/f\/d) Research &#038; Development to start as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Optimization and development of new optical designs for intraocular lenses<\/li>\n<li>Evaluation, comparison and analysis of optical designs and patient requirements for early identification of innovations and project planning<\/li>\n<li>Simulation of optical interfaces and beam paths for the development of innovative and optimization of existing optical designs with simulation software (e.g. Zemax)<\/li>\n<li>Disciplined documentation of activities and work results in a highly regulated development environment<\/li>\n<li>Verification and experimental proof of the desired optical performance parameters<\/li>\n<li>Transferring ideas and innovations into research and development projects<\/li>\n<li>Selection, procurement, commissioning and operation of measurement technology for determining optical parameters<\/li>\n<li>Validation of manufacturing processes (IQ\/OQ\/PQ)<\/li>\n<li>Support in the preparation of approval documentation, project descriptions, product launches, sales guides and marketing materials<\/li>\n<li>Independent organization and planning of (optical) projects (e.g. project planning with Gantt charts, resource planning, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your profile<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Successfully completed studies in physics, ophthalmic optics, optometry, medical technology or a comparable field of study<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the testing and characterization of optical surfaces (e.g. interferometry, wavefronts, MTF, profilometry)<\/li>\n<li>Confident handling of simulation software for optical systems, such as Zemax<\/li>\n<li>Analytical, structured and solution-oriented way of working<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate and work in a team and act independently<\/li>\n<li>Experience and willingness to plan and manage optics projects.<\/li>\n<li>Very good written and spoken German and English skills<\/li>\n<li>Advantageous would be\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in product development in strictly regulated industries, such as medical technology, for example in accordance with ISO 13485<\/li>\n<li>Experience in ophthalmology<\/li>\n<li>Experience with project management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Varied and responsible activities in an innovative and future-oriented company<\/li>\n<li>Independent area of responsibility<\/li>\n<li>Exchange at eye level<\/li>\n<li>Collegial support culture<\/li>\n<li>Short decision-making paths due to a flat hierarchy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As an innovative and internationally oriented manufacturer of premium implants for eye surgery, we develop, produce and distribute medical products to restore the best possible vision to the human eye.
