Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI for short) is considered the gold standard in medicine for imaging internal organs and tissue. An MRI of the head enables the early detection of tumors or strokes. During an MRI examination, the magnetic field strength can influence implants in terms of temperature increase, image artifacts and positional changes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

All HumanOptics intraocular lenses<\/strong> with and without blue light filters of any material (acrylic, silicone, PMMA) are MR safe.<\/strong> With this implant you can be scanned safely in a magnetic resonance imaging device.<\/p>

Only one special model, the OCCLUSIVA<\/strong> (MS 714 black and MS 614 black), is not MR safe<\/strong> due to its black pigmented appearance. MRI images of these models can lead to movement of the IOL and irritation of the surrounding tissue, as well as to image artifacts in the area of the IOL. It is recommended that you consult your ophthalmologist after an MRI examination.<\/p>

The iris implant, the ARTIFICIALIRIS<\/em>, can be classified as MR conditionally safe.<\/strong> This means that if you have been implanted with an ARTIFICIALIRIS<\/em>, you can only be scanned safely in the magnetic resonance imaging device under certain conditions. Please show your implant card before the MRI examination. Your doctor will then take the necessary safety precautions.<\/p>

Other implants from HumanOptics, the MicroSil Diaphragm, capsular tension rings<\/strong> and the Krumeich Cornea Ring<\/strong> are also classified as MR safe<\/strong>.<\/p>
